The CERMA consortium convened an internal project meeting and a public workshop on the 4th and 5th December 2025 at the University of Lisbon, to accelerate identification of environmental risks and complete the needs analysis that will shape upcoming pilot hydrological modelling and curriculum modernization. Partners reported strong progress on ongoing work packages and agreed concrete deadlines to finalise WP2 outputs by the end of December 2025.
The two-day event combined an internal project meeting on Day 1 with a stakeholder-facing workshop on Day 2. The former covered overall project progress, dissemination/communication tasks, and WP2 status updates. Partners concluded that WP1 and WP6 are progressing according to plan and agreed next steps for WP3 to begin once WP2 is completed and reviewed.
Day 2 focused on the identification of priority environmental risks and the needs analysis. Session topics included survey results on perceived risks, followed by focused technical presentations on heatwaves, floods and droughts delivered by University of Lisbon, Babeș-Bolyai University and Nicolaus Copernicus University, respectively. These sessions generated practical recommendations for pilot site selection and priority competencies for training materials.
The outputs from the Lisbon meeting will feed directly into pilot hydrological model runs, co-design workshops for updated curricula, and the development of lifelong-learning modules for practitioners and educators. Partners also agreed to fix dates for the next consortium meeting in Romania, scheduled for mid-2026. Stakeholders who contributed to the Lisbon workshop will be invited to validation sessions and early testing of tools as pilot activities roll out.
