CERMA successfully completed its theme-based training on using hydrological models at the University of Babeș-Bolyai in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, from 28-30 April 2026. The workshop brought together project partners and participants for a focused programme combining internal project coordination with practical training on hydrological modelling for environmental risk management.
Hands-on learning featured practical sessions on building a 5cm DEM from drone/UAS images and applying that high-resolution terrain data in HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS case studies. These exercises gave participants a direct view of how hydrological modelling can support flood, drought and heatwave risk management in real contexts.
The event reflected CERMA’s commitment to strengthening applied skills, advancing technical cooperation and supporting the project’s next implementation steps, reinforcing the role of the case studies as a foundation for the project’s continuation and for the development of future training and educational outputs.
